Everything on this site flows from a few simple, settled convictions. Not a long list of rules -a foundation.
One God. We believe in one God, eternal and outside of time — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit -who made the heavens and the earth, and who was already there before the beginning began (Genesis 1:1).
Jesus, our Saviour. We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God — that He lived, died for our sins, and rose again, and that He is the way to the Father. Not one way among many; the way.
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." -John 14:6
Saved by grace. We believe you cannot earn your way to God by being good enough or trying hard enough. Salvation is a gift, received by faith in Jesus -not a wage you work for.
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God." -Ephesians 2:8
The Holy Spirit, our Helper. We believe Jesus did not leave us alone. He gave us the Holy Spirit -the Spirit of truth -to live in us, teach us, and guide us into all truth, until He comes again (John 16:13).
The Bible, our source of truth. We believe the Scriptures are God's word to us -our anchor and our measure of what is real in a confusing world.
And at the centre of it all-a walk, not just a religion. This is the heartbeat of Spera in Deo: faith is not mainly a set of rules to keep. It is a walk -a daily walking with Christ Jesus, step by step, guided and helped by the Holy Spirit, until the day He returns. That is what we're here for. That is what we're inviting you into.
